The Franklin County Foundation (FCF), a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC), is pleased to announce 17 grant awards totaling $68,535 to support nonprofit organizations that enhance or benefit the lives of citizens in the Franklin County region.

FCF’s strategic grantmaking focus is to invest in innovative, collaborative approaches and solutions to community problems, and to support projects that have the potential for the greatest impact on the quality of life and positive outcomes for individuals and families living in Franklin County.

The FCF funds come from bequests and gifts given by individuals, families, organizations, and institutions and are held by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities. The FCF Advisory Committee determines the distribution of the income from the investment of the discretionary funds.

The following is a list of grant recipients, the amount of funding and their project.

Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library –  $2,900.00 for the book and film inspired project, “Novel Reels”.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – South Central PA – $450.00 to assist with technology needs.

Children Aid Society – $5,000.00 for its Frances Leiter Center.

Conococheague Institute for The Study of Cultural Heritage – $5,165.00 to assist with the reconstruction of an interpretive space focusing on slavery.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Inc. – $3,000.00 to assist with spay and neuter clinic costs.

Cumberland Valley School of Music – $3,600.00 for its arts integrated preschool pilot program.

Diaper Depot at Central – $8,929.00 to assist with diaper attainment and distribution needs.

Dickinson College -$1,182.00 to provide health outreach to migrant workers.

Franklin County Library System – $8,929.00 to assist in furnishing and equipping a media center for teens at the Coyle Free Library in Chambersburg.

Healthy Communities Partnership of Greater Franklin Co Inc. – $4,998.50 for the fitness and self-esteem focused program “Go Girls Go- Expansion”.

Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania – $2,640.50 for patient emergency assistance.

Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc. – $2,000.00 for technology infrastructure upgrades.

Renfrew Committee Inc. – $3,000.00 for the project, “Women Through History”.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pa – $5,000.00 to assist Franklin County families staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their child or children undergo treatment.

Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania (VROCP) – $2,503.50 for its “VROCP Awareness Project for Franklin County”.

Waynesboro Community Concert Association – $3,000.00 to assist with its 81st season’s leadoff concert and student outreach.

Wilson College – $6,238.00 to assist with transportation within its “Learning Campus” project.
