The Foundation manages projects that provide charitable benefits within the community. Because TFEC is the project’s fiscal sponsor, gifts for a project are deductible for federal tax purposes. Project agreements provide that TFEC can pay for eligible expenses related to accomplishing the project’s goals. Net proceeds can be added to a TFEC fund or distributed to another charitable organization. Project funds do not accrue interest while in the project. TFEC provides objective fiscal oversight in order to ensure legal and accounting compliance.
TFEC has expertise in managing a wide range of charitable projects, from fundraising events, to community health initiatives, to corporate and foundation grantmaking programs, to urban beautification upgrades. In many cases, The Foundation also provides staff and administrative expertise to help achieve the initiatives.
