James
What is one of your fondest childhood memories?
I don’t really have one memory that stands above all the rest.  My fondest memories focus around learning, such as, going to museum, class field trips, arts performances, etc.

What was your very first job as a teenager?
My first job was cleaning the lobby of the local McDonald’s restaurant.  I stayed there for 3 years or so and eventually worked my way up to management level before leaving for college.

What kind of movies/books/music do you like?
I really like most types of movies from action to romantic comedies; I’m not terribly picking!  I prefer to read mystery/suspense types novels by authors such as Dan Brown, Dale Brown, etc.  I listen to all types of music depending on my mood from classical to pop hits.

What led you into a career at The Foundation?
I was looking for a different job and was told by a friend about the opening at TFEC.  After researching TFEC more, I decided it could be a good fit for me personally and professionally; I’ve always wanted to get involved with nonprofit work so it just seemed perfect!

What do you like most about working for TFEC?
I really enjoy the people that work at TFEC and the mission of TFEC; those two items combined make for a perfect workplace!

Who is the person that you would most like to meet (famous or not)?
I would love to meet several different people: Hillary Clinton, President Abraham Lincoln, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and President Barack Obama.

What is the one thing you would most like to see or to accomplish in your lifetime?
I want to help as many people as I can to better their situation or fulfill their needs; nothing makes me happier than providing joy to other people.

When you meet someone for the first time, what is the first thing you notice?
The first thing I notice about meeting someone is their eyes and personal style statement (how they dress).

If you weren't in this profession, what would be your ideal career or business venture?
I would love to open a small business, maybe a bookstore/café.  If I could have any job, I would love to sing on Broadway for a living.

Tell me one thing that most people would not know about James.
Something not many people know about me is that I’ve spent the past 2+ years at improving my personal health.  I’ve succeeded in losing and keeping off over 115 pounds.  I’ve shared my story with others and have inspired some friends, even strangers, to improve their healthy habits and achieve their own personal weight goals.
