Applying for a Grant

How to Apply

 Step One:
Review the grantmaking guidelines. Grant guidelines and application materials will be available approximately 8 weeks prior to the application deadline.
See grantmaking deadlines below.

to sign up for TFEC's e-mail list. Subscribe to the "Nonprofits" e-mail list and receive notifications via e-mail each time a funding opportunity becomes available. You will also receive the quarterly newsletter targeted to nonprofit organizations, as well as occasional other messages from TFEC.

  Step Two:
After reviewing the appropriate grant guidelines, contact the Program Officer to determine your eligibility to apply and to discuss your proposal.

 Step Three:
Submit a Grant Application according the Grant Guidelines. Please follow the directions carefully and use the forms provided, as applicable. If you have questions about the guidelines or how to complete your application, contact the Program Officer. Please ensure that all requested materials are submitted with the grant proposal! As a rule, the Grantmaking Committee makes its decision to fund based on the information provided in the applicant's written material. At its discretion, the Committee may conduct a site visit, request additional information about your proposal, or defer your request to another grant cycle.

Availability of Technical Assistance
The Program Officer will provide technical assistance in helping you prepare your grant application. A review of your draft documents can be submitted by e-mail and other questions related to the project, budget, or other grant related matters, or questions can be discussed by telephone prior to the deadline. These requests should be limited to one review before finalizing your proposals. Staff will NOT be able to honor technical assistance requests made later than one week prior to the grant submission deadline. No corrections, additions or revisions to your proposal will be accepted at any time after the deadline. The Foundation also provides debriefing on proposals that were not funded.

Please direct any questions you may have regarding grantmaking to Jennifer Kuntch, Program Officer for Community Investment, at 717-236-5040 or e-mail jkuntch@tfec.org.
