J. Ward Sleichter and Frances F. Sleichter Memorial Fund

The J. Ward Sleichter and Frances F. Sleichter Memorial Scholarship Fund of The Franklin County Community Foundation, a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, awards scholarships to deserving students in the Shippensburg, Pennsylvania area as defined by the Shippensburg School District in Cumberland and Franklin counties. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide aid for needy and deserving students who otherwise would not have the financial means to obtain a four-year college education. Mrs. Sleichter did not intend this scholarship to go to the student with the highest GPA or stellar academic performance, but rather to the student with average grades who demonstrates motivation, character, ability, and potential and would not be able to attend a four-year college without the support of this scholarship.

This scholarship is a fund of the Franklin County Community Foundation, a regional foundation of TFEC.
