The Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through remarkable Take Action projects that have sustainable impact in their communities-and beyond.

Alyssa’s Project – Cross Country Bridge

My name is Alyssa and I am a Girl Scout working on my Gold Award, which is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.

For my project I am building a new bridge to connect the AYSO (soccer) fields to the rest of the school grounds. The bridge currently there has sustained flood damage and it is very narrow. Since we run across it as part of our cross country course, this is a big problem. This is also the only way to get to the AYSO fields without going on the road. This can be a problem when the lawnmower and gator need to get to the fields. The new bridge will in many ways make it more safe for the athletes, and improve the running/walking path that goes across it.

Thank you for contributing to the safety of the athletes, and making this project possible.
