The Building Strong Readers from the Start Fund is dedicated to early literacy, recognizing it as the cornerstone of lifelong learning, school success, and personal confidence. Early literacy equips children with essential skills in language, comprehension, and phonological awareness, skills that unlock success in every other subject area. Strong literacy programs empower families by supporting reading at home, helping parents prepare children for school, and increasing access to books across home, school, and library settings. The more opportunities children have to practice literacy skills, the stronger and more prepared they become.
