Melissa joined The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) in September 2025 as the Program Officer for Educational Opportunities. She brings over 13 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, having worked extensively with at-risk, low-income and homeless youth and families. A passionate advocate for youth development, mentorship and housing stability, Melissa is dedicated to creating equitable opportunities through education and community engagement.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Women’s Studies from Lancaster Bible College, as well as a Master’s degree in the Psychology of Leadership from Penn State University. Melissa is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and is currently pursuing a Personal Training and Nutrition Certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Outside of her work at TFEC, Melissa enjoys coaching volleyball at the West Shore YMCA. She leads an active lifestyle, finding joy in weightlifting, paddleboarding, hiking and playing sports. In her free time, she also enjoys road trips, attending concerts, home decorating, hosting gatherings, volunteering at her church and spending quality time with friends, family and her dog, Bentley.
