HARRISBURG, Pa. — 16 local nonprofits received grants totaling over $43,000 from the Perry County Community Foundation (PCCF). PCCF is a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) dedicated to fostering local philanthropy.
As a regional foundation with a focus rooted in Perry County, PCCF is deeply in-touch with the community it serves. The committee members of PCCF are ambassadors to the county, allowing them to fill the gaps in support by uplifting nonprofits doing impactful work. This can look like projects that focus on food access, literacy programs, youth leadership and so much more. Each grant is a seed planted to help Perry County bloom for now and future generations to come.
“The Perry County Community Foundation continues to make a meaningful difference across Perry County,” said Lauren Tressler, Chair of the Advisory Committee. “Local generosity combined with community spirit can create a lasting impact.”
PCCF celebrated the grants at their yearly grantee reception held at Whitetail Lodge in Marysville, PA on May 20. With a grant from PCCF, the Ronald McDonald House can provide overnight stays so that the family of a patient doesn’t have to choose between being present and the cost of doing so. Additionally, the LEAF Project can continue its mission of cultivating youth leaders through meaningful work in the food system which has already distributed 15,000 boxes of fresh food. Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg can complete home renovation projects for a resident in need and College Knowledge Foundation can help students navigate the college process. The strength of Perry County lies in the tight-knit fabric of neighbors who support one another. PCCF is honored to fund missions that bring hope and needed services so that all can thrive.
