What kind of fund will the winner receive?

The winner of Spark! will receive a $10,000 area of interest fund, a permanent endowment fund.

Area of interest funds supports a specific cause or interest that you define. Once an area of charitable interest (i.e. animal welfare, early childhood education, etc.) is identified, TFEC’s Grantmaking Committee then awards grants to nonprofit organizations within the area of interest through a competitive application process.

Who can enter a cause?

Residents within the United States, 18+ years of age may enter.

Can current or former TFEC employees enter?

No, unfortunately, this contest is not open to current or former TFEC employees. Persons with signing authority for TFEC Projects current or former TFEC Directors or committee members, and current or former TFEC fund donors or fund advisors are also not eligible to enter or to win.

How can a nonprofit organization participate?

Spark is for individuals to enter a cause or passion they care about. Nonprofits are not eligible to apply.

How will the funds be distributed?

Once a winning cause is selected, TFEC’s Grant Committee will then evaluate nonprofits – through a competitive grant process, within the Southcentral PA counties that TFEC serves (Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry and the Dillsburg area.)
