Eligible 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations can apply for funding for a wide range of competitive grant opportunities 

HARRISBURG, PA – The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) offers a range of competitive grant opportunities to meet community needs. Starting in the Fall of 2021, TFEC grant opportunities are now available annually through one of three grant cycles. Explore TFEC’s grant opportunities at www.tfec.org/grants 

 The deadlines have changed from TFEC’s previous schedule of two annual grant cycles.  

 Grant Cycle 1: 

  • Harold M. Greany Trust Fund 
  • The Kids Trust
  • The Children’s Home Foundation Fund
  • Perry County Community Foundation 

Applications Open: November 1, 2021 
Application Deadline: February 1, 2022 
Applicants Notified: June 1, 2022 

 Grant Cycle 2: 

  • Arts for All 
  • Emerging Philanthropist Program Fund 
  • Franklin County Community Foundation Community Fund
  • Mechanicsburg Area Community Foundation Community Fund
  • Palmer Family Foundation Fund 

Applications Open: February 1, 2022
Application Deadline: May 1, 2022 
Applicants Notified: August 1, 2022 

 Grant Cycle 3: 

  • Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation: Upstream 
  • Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation: Benjamin Franklin Trust Fund 
  • Martin M. Sacks Memorial Fund
  • The Fund for Women & Girls 

Applications Open: June 1, 2022 
Application Deadline: September 1, 2022 
Applicants Notified: December 1, 2022 

Eligible applicants must have 501c3 status, utilize a fiscal sponsor with 501c3 status, or demonstrate nonprofit status as a church, school, or similar entity. Applicants may apply to multiple grant opportunities, but may not submit more than one grant to each opportunity. 

The application may begin at any time during the open application period. TFEC grantmaking does not fund advertising, capital campaigns, direct lobbying to influence legislation, individuals, religious organizations for the propagation of religious doctrine, or retroactive projects. TFEC believes that all voices are vital for our region’s future. We promote equity and embrace the diversity of individuals, ideas, and expressions.
