The Historical Society of Dauphin County Operating Fund is the counterpart to the Society's John Harris/Simon Cameron Mansion Fund established in 1998. The annual earnings from the latter fund are limited to the maintenance of the Mansion, whereas the earnings from the new Operating Fund will help to support the ongoing administrative expenses of the full mission of the Historical Society. In addition to the Mansion, the Society also operates the Alexander Family Library of local history and genealogy, maintains the Photo Archives of over one million images and has an extensive collection of Manuscript Archives.
