This fund supports a perpetual program of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg that teaches leadership and community philanthropy to selected high school juniors and seniors. This Youth Community Development Team, over the course of the school year, will learn how leadership and philanthropy can effectively address community needs. Students learn how to prepare Requests for Proposals, evaluate grant requests, and award grants to the most worthy projects using earnings from this fund. This program is in collaboration with the United Way of the Capital Region, Leadership Harrisburg, Harrisburg-area school districts, the Patriot-News, and Rotary Club members.
