Kenneth A. Viani & Pauline M. Viani Scholarship Fund

Kenneth A. “Tony” Viani had his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology, and taught Biology and Physical Science in the Harrisburg School District. He then went on to serve as a principal in several schools within the Susquenita school district, including Susquenita Middle School, which he was instrumental in helping to create. Towards the end of his career, Mr. Viani became the Superintendent of Susquenita School District until his retirement in 2007. Mr. Viani devoted his entire life to the education of children. This scholarship is created in memory of Mr. Viani as well as his mother, Pauline M. Viani, who was a kind, no-nonsense woman who had great business sense.

Criteria

  1. Graduating senior from Susquenita High School 
  2. Students planning to study education with the intent to teach after graduation. Preference will be given to students planning to teach biology or a science-related field 
  3. Financial need 
  4. Essay
  5. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.
