 The Leon Lowengard Scholarship has been established to memorialize the late Leon Lowengard.  The award is for students attending Harrisburg City Public Schools and surrounding districts with special consideration given to students who are of Jewish faith.

Scholarship FAQ

Criteria

  1. Graduating seniors and recent graduates of Harrisburg City public schools and surrounding districts. This includes Harrisburg High School, SciTech High School, Capital Area School for the Arts Charter School (CASA), Dauphin County Technical School, Steelton-Highspire School District, Susquehanna Township School District, Central Dauphin High School, and Central Dauphin East High School 
  2. Extra consideration is given for students of the Jewish faith 
  3. Must be an undergraduate student 
  4. Must attend college on a full-time basis (12 or more credits) 
  5. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and maintain it throughout college in order to receive payments 
  6. Financial need
  7. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Renewability

Recipients of this scholarship may apply again.  Students must submit a full application but may be prompted to complete a different essay.
