Janet B. Brownold & Simon and Eva Brenner Student Travel & Enrichment Award

This award was established by Mr. and Mrs. Melvin J. Brownold in memory of Mrs. Brownold’s parents, Simon and Eva Brenner. The award is given to enable a student(s) of HACC Central Pennsylvania’s Community College to travel either in the United States or abroad for the purpose of personal or educational enrichment and/or for costs associated with participation in a program of International Education approved by the College.

This scholarship is currently not making awards- limited travel programs are available from HACC for academic year 2023-2024.

Scholarship FAQs

Criteria

  1. Applicant must be currently enrolled full time in a degree program at HACC with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  2. Applicant’s travel and/or educational plans, as outlined on the application form, should be specific and realistic in terms of ability to profit from the experience and in terms of personal financial situation.
  3. Financial need
  4. Award recipients must submit a written report within 60 days of travel identifying the educational benefits provided by the travel.
  5. Essay
  6. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.
