What school are you attending?
York College of Pennsylvania

What is your Major/Minor?
Major: Nursing
Minor: None at this time

What year in college are you?
I am a freshman in college for the 2014 – 2015 academic year.

What is your favorite thing about the school you’re attending?
My favorite thing about York College is that every visit I have been on all the students and faculty I’ve encountered are very friendly. The atmosphere of the school is just so positive and you hear nothing but good things about the facilities and professors I can’t wait to start in August!

What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love to just hang out and spend time with my friends and family. I also just started a new job as a Patient Care Assistant at Harrisburg Hospital. This will be such a great learning experience and I’ll get a little insight into the nursing world I can’t wait for it to soak up my free time!

What are your goals? (Educational, Career, or Both!)
My goals are to first graduate and be decided between wanting to be an oncology nurse or a maternity nurse. If I end up deciding on maternity I would love to later go back to school and become a mid–wife.

What does this scholarship mean to you?
I am so thankful that I was awarded this scholarship. Ever since my mom’s nurses impacted me during her time in the hospital I have dreamed of becoming a nurse. Once I started looking at colleges there was a bit of sticker shock looking at the prices of everything. This scholarship has made planning out my finances with college a million times easier and now my dream can be a lot less expensive to achieve. I am forever grateful for that!
