You are invited to celebrate the rich and beautiful Asian American stories through a photo telling experience. In sharing these stories, we hope to create visibility, empathy, connection, and community.

Since 2020, incidents of anti-Asian hate have increased by 339%. In response, members of HAAPI, a grassroots organization of Harrisburg Asian American Pacific Islanders, found a way to use the power of visibility to combat hate and foster understanding.
Members collected stories and coupled them with portraits of the storytellers to capture the rich tapestry of the Harrisburg AAPI community. The resulting exhibition, Portraits of Identity: Harrisburg AAPI Narratives Through the Lens, uses storytelling and photography to explore the depth and breadth of AAPI stories and create an experience where they are seen, heard, and celebrated.
