CODY Foundation Scholarship Fund

This $500 scholarship, presented by The CODY Foundation Scholarship Fund of the Perry County Community Foundation, a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, is available to graduating students from Perry County high schools.  The CODY (Christian Organization for Distinguished Youth) Foundation Scholarship Fund was established by Bob, Cheryl and Derek Yohn and close friends to honor the memory of Cody Robert Yohn who passed away at age 13 as a result of an automobile accident.  Cody was a loving son, brother and friend who excelled in school, athletics and social activities.  Education, athletics and religion were very important to him.  Scholarships will be awarded to Perry County students.

This scholarship is a fund of the Perry County Community Foundation, a regional foundation of TFEC.

Criteria

  1. Graduating seniors from Perry county high schools; Greenwood High School, Susquenita High School, West Perry High School, or Newport High School 
  2. GPA (academic achievement) 
  3. Community involvement 
  4. Moral character (attendance and/or involvement in church activities) 
  5. Financial need 
  6. Essay
  7. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Essay

In his last journal entry, Cody wrote in response to Person I Would Like to Be. If you were to answer that today, how would you respond? Essay should be titled, 100 words minimum/300 words maximum.

This scholarship is a one-time only award.
