This scholarship was established by family, friends, colleagues, and students to honor Dorothy M. Peele, a Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School teacher from 1957 through 1966. During her tenure at Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School, she was a devoted educator, mentor, and role model who was respected, loved, and admired by students that lasted throughout their lives. In 1966, after earning a master’s degree in counseling, Miss Peele became a junior high counselor and shortly after became the middle school counselor until her retirement in 1986. She was devoted to her students; helping them and having a positive influence on their lives. Miss Peele had a very rewarding career that made a difference for so many.
