JEM Group is a woman-owned construction services firm located in Central Pennsylvania. From the beginning, the driving force of the JEM Group has been to improve the communities where they live and build. The JEM Diversity in Construction Scholarship Fund was born out of the JEM CEO’s (Jessica Meyers) desire to see more young women and minority students encouraged to go into Construction related fields.

Scholarship FAQ

Criteria

  1. Student should represent a minority group or be female
  2. Resident of Dauphin, Cumberland or Perry County
  3. Attendance at a four-year, two-year college, university or trade school
  4. Major in construction or a related field such as: business, trade careers, engineering, architecture, interior design
  5. Extra consideration will be given to students with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  6. Financial need
  7. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Essay

Write a 300-word essay discussing why you have an interest in a career in construction and why you
are deserving of this scholarship.

Renewability

Recipients of this scholarship may apply again for up to 3 consecutive years.  Students must submit a full application but may be prompted to complete a different essay.
