Owen Cole Brezitski Memorial Scholarship

On March 17, 2011, 8-year-old Owen Cole Brezitski was killed by a distracted 17-year-old driver while walking in a crosswalk with his family in front of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA. Owen’s Foundation, the Orange 4 Owen Project and the Owen Cole Brezitski Memorial Scholarship Fund were born out of this tragedy.

Our mission is to promote pedestrian, driver, traffic and childhood safety as well as raise awareness of the consequences of distracted driving practices. Slow Down, Be Alert and Save a Life is our mantra. Owen was a mature, polite, respectful, faith-filled boy whose smile was contagious. He will always be remembered for his loving, kind and gentle ways and his bright, sunny personality. We know we cannot change yesterday, but we can help make a difference today and tomorrow.
