The Zachary Moore Music Memorial Fund is intended to support music development as envisioned by our son, Zachary. He wanted to pursue a non-traditional, innovative, and creative approach to bring forth music and help release the music he heard in his mind, body and soul.

Scholarship FAQ

Criteria

  1. Graduated from any of the following local schools: Susquehanna Township High School, Harrisburg High School, Sci-Tech High School, Capital Area School for the Arts (CASA), Steelton-Highspire High School, Central Dauphin, or Central Dauphin East High School or currently attending Lebanon Valley College as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior  
  2. Minimum 2.5 GPA 
  3. Attendance at a two-year or four-year college or university, or creative arts/music school for the study of music 
  4. Extra consideration will be given to those who plan to pursue audio engineering, non-traditional or other innovative forms of creative musical expression as well as high school students entering Lebanon Valley College for studying the same.  
  5. Plans to attend school either full-time or part-time  
  6. Evidence of extracurricular activities or volunteerism 
  7. Financial need 
  8. Essay
  9. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Essay

Please discuss one of the following topics: If you were to create a new music genre, what would it be; How does music communicate/be used to enhance communication; An idea for the development of innovations in music; Explain what music means to you.

Renewability

Recipients of this scholarship may apply again for one additional consecutive year. Students must submit a full application but may be prompted to complete a different essay.
