Tri-County Watershed Association and Partners Meeting

The meeting is being coordinated by the Adams, Cumberland, and Franklin County Conservation Districts, in partnership with the South Mountain Partnership, and support from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

About the Event

The event will feature a presentation by Kelly Sitch, a forest ecologist at the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Kelly’s work focuses on rare plant species protection and forest habitat monitoring for the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry. He also works to promote the use of native grass and wildflower mixes both on and off state forestlands. Kelly will be discussing the positive impact native plants have on wild and suburban landscapes, and how to convert non-native grass lawns to native meadows.

The meeting will also include reports by Katie Hess, director of the South Mountain Partnership; and Kelsey Miller, coordinator of DCNR’s Lawn Conversion Program.

And finally, our Adams, Cumberland, and Franklin County Community Clean Water Action Plan Coordinators will share their roles/goals and how you can help with the development of our County Action Teams.
