Women’s Fund Annual Grantee Breakfast Inspires Attendees

Eight organizations dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in South Central Pennsylvania addressed a philanthropic audience at the Women’s Fund Annual Grantee Recognition Breakfast, held on April 26th at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg. In 2017, through the Women’s Fund and the power of collective philanthropy, a total of $19,985 was granted. Each organization, a recipient of a 2017 grant, had an opportunity to share the impact of the Women’s Fund on the lives of the women and girls they serve.

Uplifting stories of tragedy and triumph were told, and attendees were exposed to the many organizations working to encourage and nourish the well-being of women and girls in our community. Grantees included: Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit’s Pinnacle Place Maternity Home; Community Check-Up Center of South Harrisburg, which provides long-acting contraception for the uninsured; Girls on the Run of the Capital Area for their summer program; Girls on the Run of Lancaster and Lebanon for their scholarship fund; Hope Within Ministries, which provides disease management for uninsured women; the Agape Family Shelter through Lebanon Rescue Mission; the Perry County Literacy Council; and the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center of Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties which provides assistance to female survivors of sexual assault or abuse.

Thanks to the many sponsors of the event and those in attendance, this year’s Annual Grantee Recognition Breakfast was a great success, inspiring attendees and raising more than $16,000 to continue the important work of the Women’s Fund.
