HARRISBURG, PA The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) announced $338,872 in grant funds have been awarded to 67 Greater Harrisburg and surrounding area nonprofit organizations through competitive grant opportunities. Awarded projects will commence between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023.

Grant recipients are registered 501(c) (3) nonprofit organizations or utilize a fiscal sponsor. After careful review of numerous grant application submissions, the following were awarded funding for the 2022 – 2023 fiscal year:

Arts for All – A grant initiative of the Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation, a regional foundation of TFEC, is a unique funding opportunity to improve the efficiency of arts grant funding and increase the overall impact of grant funding for arts programming in the South Central PA Communities we serve.

Arts for All awarded $150,096 to organizations:

Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro ($7,500), Bosler Memorial Library  ($3,000), Capitol Theatre Center Foundation ($1,000), Carlisle Arts Learning Center ($5,000), CASA Charter School Foundation ($5,000), Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet ($4,000), Chambersburg Area Council For The Arts ($5,007), Harrisburg Choral Society ($1,000), Dauphin County Library System ($5,000), David and Libby Rosen Center for Healthy Families ($5,750), Downtown Chambersburg, Inc. ($3,000), Gamut Theatre Group, Inc. ($5,000), Gretna Productions Inc. ($5,400), Harrisburg Opera Association ($3,500), Harrisburg Community Theatre ($2,000), Harrisburg Gay Men’s Chorus ($7,500), Joseph T. Simpson Public Library ($2,000), Making a Difference of Lebanon, PA ($5,500), Market Square Concerts ($3,000), Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art ($5,000), Open Stage of Harrisburg ($7,500), Perry County Council of the Arts      ($4,500), Sankofa African American Theatre Company ($7,500), Shippensburg University Foundation ($1,000), The St. James Players  ($2,880), Summer Program for Youth ($4,000), The Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg ($7,000), The Links Foundation, Inc.  ($4,500), The Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies ($5,000), The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region Corps ($5,000), The Performance Zone, Inc. (Fiscal Sponsor): Kate Browne ($7,464), West Shore Symphony Orchestra ($2,695), Wilson College ($1,900), and World Affairs Council of Harrisburg ($5,000).

Franklin County Community Foundation (FCCF) – A regional foundation of TFEC, FCCF funds programs and services that have the potential for the greatest impact on the quality of life and positive outcomes for individuals and families living in Franklin County.

FCCF awarded a total of $70,340 to 17 organizations for supporting key initiatives:

Capitol Theatre Center Foundation ($5,192), Chambersburg Area Council For The Arts ($2,580), Children’s Aid Society-Southern District Church of the Brethren ($5,000), Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, LLC ($1,200), Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance ($7,000), Cumberland Valley School of Music ($6,800), Diaper Depot at Central          ($7,000), Downtown Chambersburg Inc ($1,000), Employment Skills Center ($6,784), Franklin County Legal Services ($1,200), Habitat For Humanity of Franklin County ($2,000), Penn’s Youth Initiative ($7,000), South Central Community Action Programs ($6,784), The Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg ($2,000), Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies ($4,000), Waynesboro Community & Human Services ($4,000), and Wilson College ($800).

Mechanicsburg Area Community Foundation – A regional foundation of TFEC, MACF funds programs and services that have the potential for the greatest impact on the quality of life and positive outcomes for individuals and families living in the Mechanicsburg Area. Through grantmaking, MACF invests in solutions to community problems and supports projects demonstrating achievable outcomes.

MACF awarded a total of $74,140 to organizations for supporting key initiatives:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, Inc. ($7,500) , Blue Mountain Escape, Inc. ($2,500), Community CARES ($6,500), Homeland Hospice ($12,000), Hospice of Central Pennsylvania  ($5,000), Joseph T. Simpson Public Library ($10,000), Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania ($5,000), New Hope Ministries, Inc. ($10,000), PennCares ($7,000), and West Shore Wildlife Center ($8,640).

The Palmer Family Foundation Fund (PFFF) – A fund of TFEC, PFFF offers an annual competitive grant opportunity to any nonprofit visual or performing arts organization located in Franklin County for programs and/or projects that support the arts in Franklin County, PA.

PFFF awarded a total of $44,296 to 6 organizations:

Capitol Theater Center Foundation ($12,796), Franklin County Historical Society- Kittochtinny ($9,500), Cumberland Valley School of Music ($10,000), Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc. ($2,000), Shippensburg Arts Program and Education (SHAPE) ($5,000), and Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies, Inc. ($5,000).
