Twice annually, the Partnership holds a meeting in which all partners and interested parties are invited to come together and build relationships and collaborations across the region. We are excited to gather in York County for this two-part meeting. The events will be held at the spacious Dillsburg Borough Building and we will have snacks and coffee available.
Our Spring Meeting and Regional Trail Coalition Meeting are both being held on April 10; read on to learn more and register for one or both.

About the Event
Part 1: Spring Partnership Meeting 9:00-12:00 PM
Our hallmark Spring Partnership meeting begins with opening remarks from the York County Commissioners, Borough of Dillsburg staff, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), as well as our meeting sponsors.
The main program builds on the Winter Meeting about balancing development and conservation. We will be joined by York County Planning Department and the York County Economic Alliance, highlighting relevant and timely planning and smart growth tools, information and resources to help increase quality of life and balance local development, conservation and the preservation of sense of place and historic character. Attendees will learn about a local community-led effort that’s shows how residents can engage in collecting and sharing land development information to better inform the public and decision makers. The final part of the morning Spring meeting program will be an opportunity for attendees to inform the next SMP strategic plans and work focus areas. .
This meeting will include time for organizational updates. This meeting is packed with key opportunities such as;
- Connect or reconnect with the SMP, learning more about initiatives and on-going projects;
- Build and strengthen our network of people and organizations working throughout the region;
- Hear from local and state officials and spark conversation and collaboration across political and sectoral boundaries;
- Engage 50+ partners in on-going work throughout the region;
- Involve partners in defining the direction of the Partnership.
Lunch: 12:00-1:00
If you would like to stay for an optional lunch, there is an opportunity to pre-order a boxed lunch from Tucker and Co or we welcome you to bring a bagged lunch from home.
Part 2: Regional Trail Coalition 1:00-2:30 PM
Are you a passionate advocate for connecting communities to one another and the ability to spend time outside? If so, join the SMP Regional Trail Coalition Forum to learn more about the feasibility study currently underway! Are you knowledgeable about multi-use pedestrian trails or trail planning and construction? The Forum is for you, too!
- The South Mountain Partnership, with the help of our Regional Trail Coalition Feasibility Study steering committee and consultant, has started a collaborative planning effort to explore establishing a regional trail coalition to support developing a more robust network of trails to better connect open spaces and communities in the South Mountain Conservation Landscape.
- To include a brief overview of the initial vision and goals for such a coalition with examples of other similar efforts in other regions to get the conversation started.
- Followed by a facilitated brainstorming session of how such a coalition could help to plan and implement the collective ideas for a more connected trail network and better trail experiences.
