No one could have predicted the year 2020. While we were waiting with much anticipation to celebrate The Foundation for Enhancing Communities’ (TFEC) 100th year of service to the community, the world had other plans. Even though the events of 2020 have spilled into 2021, TFEC looks forward to celebrating their Centennial (+1) Anniversary this year, culminating with a Gala on Saturday, September 18, 2021.

What do 100 years of service look like? How far have we come in 100 years?

TFEC was formed just 17 days after the passing of Women’s Suffrage on August 26, 1920. We saw the economic collapse of the Great Depression from 1929 – 1938, and the world plunged into WWII in the early 1940s. We saw the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, where civil rights activists dedicated themselves to social justice and Black Americans’ equal rights. Through the dawn of the internet age, 9/11, and every major historical event, we have been here. We have been supporting your local community by partnering with philanthropic donors to achieve their charitable goals.

How do you celebrate a generation of philanthropy? How do you combine 100 years of service into a 365-day celebration?

We do what we have always done, give back to our community, and serve those who need it most. Visit www.tfec.org/centennial to see all of our plans throughout the year.

This year, TFEC has set an ambitious goal to raise a combined total of $500,000 with the Fund for the Future, our regional community funds, and area of interest funds. You can help us celebrate TFEC’s Anniversary and give to your local community for good, forever. Whether you choose to give to the Fund for the Future, an area of interest fund, or a regional community fund, we make it easy to honor our past, create meaningful impact today, and pave the way for future generations.

Visit www.tfec.org/centennial to learn more about each of these giving opportunities.

Today, TFEC is proud to carry forward the legacy of so many who have helped us strengthen our local communities. As we celebrate our Centennial (+1) Anniversary, we hope you will join us on our journey to continue to invest in our communities today and well into the Future.

We hope you will join us on our year-long journey For the greater good of our region for the next 100 years and beyond.
