The Skyler James Wenger Scholarship was created in loving memory of Skyler, who was hit and killed on his way home from trick-or-treating in October 2011. His first gift was the gift of life when his organs saved and improved the lives of six others. This scholarship will continue his legacy by helping students, like Skyler, realize the dream of continuing their education.
Skyler James Wenger was a 14-year-old freshman at Cedar Cliff High School. He was an all-star baseball and football player who was a leader both on and off the field. Skyler was also very active in his church’s youth group.

“Skyler was my co-pilot in this crazy life and my best friend. Our life was dictated by the season and his sports schedule.” – Melissa Havens, Skyler’s mom |
About the Skyler James Wenger Scholarship
Established in 2012, this scholarship assists graduating seniors from Cedar Cliff High School with plans to attend any two or four-year college, university, or trade school as a full-time student. Applicants must also be athletes and from a single-parent household.
The scholarship has been able to award $7,000 to students in the first three years. Their first major fundraiser, a golf outing, is scheduled for September 10, 2016. For more information about the golf outing, or to participate, please email skylerjameswenger@gmail.com.
